The Divine Pattern

And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good (Genesis 1: 21).

This phrase can also be found in Genesis 1: 24 & 25.

If you look at the above pattern, all of the above: the grass, the herb-yielding seed, every creature, etc, once formed, produced after its kind.

Now, in verse twenty-six, we see a similar pattern:

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1: 26- 27)”.

You will agree that “Let us make man in our image and after our likeness” is a similar pattern.

The book of Psalms gives us another insight into man:

“ What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet” (Psalms 8: 4-6).

Then man fell, and Jesus Christ came back to restore man back to God’s original plan and even better because now those in Christ are sons of God (1 John 3: 2) and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8: 17).

This is one reason why man must be born again (John 3: 3)and receive the life of God.

“He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life” (1 John 5: 12).

The remedy is simple if you don’t know the Lord yet, simply call upon the Lord, confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead and you shall be saved (Romans 10: 10).

As believers in Christ, we have to renew our minds to these spiritual truths.

Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” (Colossians 3: 10).

We are to be renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him that created us.

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;

And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness ( Ephesians 4: 23-24).

This explains why we need to renew our minds. We need to renew our minds to the fact that we are now in Christ, who we really are: a new creation created in righteousness and true holiness, the divine pattern.

God is a God of patterns. God gave specific instructions concerning the building of the Ark of Noah, the Tabernacle in the wilderness, and Solomon’s Temple. The way He created the earth shows His Divine pattern. Thanks sister Bisi. I am blessed by this revelation.
