Narrow is the Way that Leads to Life

The preferred version for the purpose of this article is “Narrow is the way that leads to life”.

A narrow way informs us that there are not many options.

So the first perspective is the way to eternal life. Jesus tells us very clearly in scripture: “I am the way the truth and the life”.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14: 6).

“ Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came [a]before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture (John 10: 7-9).

So it is a narrow way because Jesus is the way. That is it. Only Jesus Christ paid the price for mankind. He died for all (2 Corinthians 5; 15).

Once we have now received Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, the next step is to find out what Christ has done for us, what belongs to us, and how to appropriate and live out in this world what now belongs to us in Christ. That path is narrow!

Why is it narrow?

It will take renewing our minds in the Word of God, meditating on Gods Word,  spending time studying the Word of God and spending time in His presence. They are not many options that lead to manifesting the life we already have in Christ. This is why it is narrow. It will take us obeying the Lord, obeying His voice, letting His thoughts be our thoughts.

This will not fall on us automatically, which is why it is narrow. There are everyday choices that we need to make. Do I sit in front of TV or go and read my Bible? Do I invest in that Bible course, or do I spend my time and money on luxuries?

There is a way that leads to the physical manifestation of that life that we already have in Christ.

Proverbs 2; 19 speaks about the paths that lead to life.

Those that choose the narrow way will not be able to waste their time on things that are not of eternal value. They will prioritize their time and  their values to line up with Kingdom values.

The way is narrow, but it is open and available to all.

In the book of Timothy; it reads “ Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, (1 Timothy 6: 12).

 It is a narrow way.

The good news is that the narrow way  is a choice and all have been invited to walk it. We have the grace of God and the person of the Holy Spirit with us, helping us.

Will you say yes to the narrow way and reap the benefits not only in this life but in the life to come.
