Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread

As we allow the Word of God to dwell in us richly, His Word accomplishes many things, as we now know that God’s Word is effectively working in us.

Did you know that Jesus is the Word of God manifested in the flesh ( John 1:14).

“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God (Revelation 19:13).

This gives us a greater perspective of what the Word of God is.

So what does God’s Word do in us?

The Word of God renews our minds (Romans 12:2).

The Word of God heals our diseases (Psalms 107: 20).

The Word of God causes our Spirits to be strong

The Word of God saves our souls (James 1:21).

The Word of God helps us to pray effectively (John 15:7).

The Word of God divides between the soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12).

God’s word plays many roles in our lives. One of them, as already stated, is “health to all our flesh” ( Proverbs 4:22). God’s Word is supernatural ( John 6 63) and its works are supernatural. It renews our minds as we meditate on it, it saves our souls, it brings health from the spiritual realm, cleanses us (Ephesians 5 26), the list goes on.

In the Lord’s prayer, one phrase we find is “Give us our daily bread”.

This part of the prayer is both natural and spiritual.

We cannot afford not to eat “our daily bread” spiritually on a daily basis as God’s Word has many roles in our lives.

New believers in Christ are told to “ As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby (1 Peter 2: 2)”

So this is my question?

Do you have a system in place to take your daily bread?

We have to be intentional about it.

Reading our Bibles, studying God’s Word, meditating on Scripture, is doing wonders in our lives. You might not think anything is happening but one day you will look back and see the process that you have made.

You will suddenly find out that the things that used to irritate you don’t anymore, because it has been left by the washing of the word, you can pray more boldly because you know what you have in Christ.  You will also find out that you have a higher perspective about things because you have renewed your mind. The list goes on.

So let us be intentional about prioritising God’s Word in our lives.
