Many times the Lord instructs us to do things, and we delay with the excuse, “I am waiting for a confirmation of this Word”.
If we are sure that God has spoken and instructed us to do something, do we really need to delay, procrastinate with the excuse of “Waiting for a confirmation”?
If Noah was waiting for a confirmation when God told him to build the ark (Genesis 6 13 14), where would the world be today?
If Abraham was waiting for a confirmation, we might not have heard of Abraham’s faith and the father of us all (Romans 4:16).
We find in scripture many times where David asked God, should l go, what should l do ( 1 Samuel 30:8). He is known as the man after God’s won heart ( Acts 13:22). David obeyed promptly, we do not find anywhere where David asked for confirmation.
Once we hear God in whatever way He chooses to speak to us, the inner witness, peace, the inner voice, God dreams, a strong impression, a knowing, once we know that this is God speaking to us through the person of the Holy Spirit, we need to obey.
Let’s put aside the excuse that we are “waiting for a confirmation”, and while that might be necessary in some cases, when we know what to do, there is no reason why we should not go ahead and do what we need to do. We need to act promptly in His timing.
