Joseph refused to interpret his brother’s treatment of him as rejection. Joseph could have wallowed in self-pity, wondering why his brothers hated him and sold him. He could have allowed that experience to limit him shape his thinking but he did not. When Joseph referred to what happened to him, he said, “ What you meant for evil, God used it to preserve life (Genesis 50:20).
Jospeh must have forgiven himself for sharing his dreams with his brothers. After all, if he did not share his dreams with them, they would not have labelled him as “Joseph the dreamer comes (Genesis 37; 10) ”. He must have learned from his mistake and moved on.
Joseph maintained a good attitude during his trial. If Jospeh did not have a good attitude, his master would not have made him ruler over his house ( Genesis 39: 5). He could have had a bad attitude and take it out on all those around him.
Joseph must have had a personal walk with God and he knew that God was a good God. He never blamed God.

Joseph looked out for others, in spite of what he was going through. He saw the Kings prisoner sad, he asked why, interpreted their dreams (Genesis 40: 6-7), and that was eventually got Joseph out of prison, when the prisoner finally remembered him (Genesis 41:9).
All these attitudes put Joseph in alignment with God’s plan for his life.
Anyone who wants to fulfil destiny must also have similar attitudes and values.
- We must know that we have been accepted in the beloved. God loves us.
- We must learn to forgive ourselves.
- We must have a personal walk with God and know God’s personality.
- We must not blame God.
- We must look out for others.
In summary, we must trust the Lord in all that we go through and know that as we cooperate with the Lord, He will bring His plan to pass in our lives.
What a great lesson we can learn from the life of Joseph.
